In the middle of the night by Garren Goh

In the middle of the night, Sheila's sister and her were awakened and startled by a strange noise coming from the living room. They were curious and scared.

Sheila jolted out of bed and got a baseball bat. She tiptoed and walked stealthily to the door while her sister was still curled up in bed. She was frightened and was trembling with fear under the comforters.

Sheila glued her ears to the door, trying to identify the noise. She thought to herself, "Please let it be a cat." She then opened the door gently and took a peek.

Sheila's sister was too afraid to stay in bed alone so she jumped out of bed and peered at what was happening, sticking close to her elder sister. Suddenly, a stray cat leaped out of nowhere! The two girls were startled.

Sheila heaved a sigh of relief and said, "Phew! Luckily it was just a cat."

What a fright! By Mabel

One starry night, Sue and her elder sister, Sally, were sleeping soundly in their bed. Suddenly, Sue was awakened by a strange sound coming from outside the room. She immediately woke Sally up. Sally listened closely and heard the sound too. Sue had asked Sally to investigate the source of the weird sound.

Sally bravely got out of their bed and took a baseball bat in her hand. Then, she tiptoed to the door while Sue hid under the blanket. The sound got louder as Sally walked closer to the door.

When Sally got to the door, she was already trembling with fear. She gently turns the doorknob took a peek. To her surprise, there was actually nothing behind it. All Sally could hear was a meowing sound followed by a loud crash!

Sue was too scared to stay in bed alone so she jumped out of bed and stood closely behind Sally. Just then, their cat, Tim, leaped out of nowhere. The girls were startled! "Aaahh!!!"

They then heaved a sigh of relief and giggled knowing then that it was only their cat that had made the strange sound. Tim must have accidentally knoced over a cup while searching for its food in the dark. The girls were relieved and went back to bed shortly.

Mr Bean goes to a Toy Shop by Jing Yi

The sun was shining brightly in the clear, azure sky. Mr Bean was going to a toy shop to buy toys. There were bicycles, balls, dolls and many more on display.

When Mr Bean went into the toy shop, he was pleased to see many colourful toys as well as collectibles.

Mr Bean espied a toy train moving on a train track and it made a clickety-clack sound. His eyes were transfixed on the fascinating toy train. He could not wait to buy it. It was in brilliant red colour with golden metal trimmings.

Mr Bean went over to the counter and requested for the new set of toy train from the salesman. The salesman took a set of new toy train for Mr Bean.

Mr Bean was smiling like a Cheshire cat when the salesman opened the box. "Wow," Mr Bean muttered under his breath. The toy train set must be expensive, he thought to himself.

The salesman showed the price tag to Mr Bean. He counted his money in his wallet. He could not afford it. Mr Bean felt dissapointed and walked home sadly.
